There are about a dozen Willoughbys registered in St olave 1893-1900. They obviously can't all be Edwins. Can't find b******* Emmanuel now though, can I? LOL

Hopefully this is one of their children, should be fairly easy to find Willoughby, Emmanuel Albert 1898 March Births St Olave Southwark London Surrey

The easiest thing to do first would be to look to see if either or both of them died before 1901, because it should be on FreeBMD and if any quarters have not yet been transcribed on FreeBMD it wouldn't take very long to look them up on ancestry, 1837 online or Family Relatives. But if you don't find a death for either one of them before 1901, you could be searching a lot of quarters to find their deaths. If they stayed in this country, that is. Still, I think that is what I would do anyway, because if you do find a death for either or both of them it would show that they stayed in this country. Do you think it is likely that they would have left wills? Because if so, you could try and trace them that way. by the way, if they were away on census night they should be listed in the place they were staying unless they were out of the country. Kate.

I have a Emma Elligett born 1868 Guildford Surrey ( not to be confused with Emma Elligett born 1865 Farnham died 1868) Emma married Edwin Thomas Willoughby in 1892 St Olave. I have tried every premonition of spellings first names only, ages and birth places to find them on the 1901 census but no luck. As no mothers maiden name was added to birth's until 1912 I cant find a birth form them. Now they could simply have been away on census night. Or could they have started there new live over sea's. ? Do I try and find there deaths ? Or do I try and find out if they went over sea's ? Taking i have no idea where to start looking for this. What would you do first ? If you have any thought's of your own on there were about, I would be grateful to hear them. Diane. x
