Sorry Jess - am I being thick here. I start on www.ancestry(.)co(.)uk The only option I then have is to click on England and Wales BMD Index Beta - to the right of the census years listing. I then get the option to search the Beta Index or the Free BMD index. The Free BMD index is now divided into three separate categories, death index, marriage index and birth index. I go into Marriage - enter Albert Biddulph 1903 (which I know is right) and up comes Albert Biddulph 1903 Apr-May-Jun Leek Staffordshire I click on view record and I get Albert Biddulph Year of Registration: 1903 Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun District: Leek County: Staffordshire Volume: 6b but there is no option to see others on this record

if you then click on side (left) look down find albert biddulph it works. But if you dont and just click on it there is no number Albert Biddulph Year of Registration: 1903 Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec District: Stoke Upon Trent County: Staffordshire Volume: 6b clicking on left hand side Biddulph, Albert Record Type: Marriages Quarter: June Year: 1903 District: Leek County: Staffordshire Volume: 6b Page: 492 (click to see others on page) just click on this on left in Ancestry Narrow Your Search Record Type: Birth, Marriage, & Death England & Wales, FreeBMD Index: 1837-1983 perhaps its a blip

when you have put your search in on the left hand side you have got other things you can click freebmd 1837-1983 or births 1984 and so on like before. I think it must be a mistake with ancestry why numbers are missed off Narrow Your Search Record Type: Birth, Marriage, & Death England & Wales, FreeBMD Index: 1837-1983 England & Wales, FreeBMD Birth Index: 1837-1983 England & Wales, Birth Index: 1984-2000 England & Wales, FreeBMD Marriage Index: 1837-1983 England & Wales, Marriage Index: 1984-2000 Staffordshire, England: Parish and Probate Records England & Wales, Death Index: 1984-2002 See more.. all down left handside as before
