On the 1901 census living in Heywood Lancs, I have James Shaw, c1858, Moseley, Lancashire, Cotton Spinner, Head Sarah Shaw, c1856, Glasgow, Scotland, Wife Ada Shaw, c1882, Moseley, Lancashire, daughter Harold Shaw, c1884, LEFT BLANK!, son. That's all okay, I know this is the right family, due to certs! 1891 Census for Heywood Lancs. James Shaw, age 33, Head, Y/shire - Under Lane, mule spinner cott. Elizabeth Shaw age 34, Scotland Arthur Mayall, son age 16???? can't for the life of me find where he fits, Ada Shaw age 9, Lydgate Harold Shaw age 7, Mossley Frank Shaw age 3, Mossley. Now Sarah and Elizabeth have to be the same lady, I have looked for the marriage for James to Sarah E - can't find any, Elizabeth S - can't find any, Sarah - there is one for 1884! Elizabeth - there is one for 1878. After accumulating lots of ref checks I have finally found a birth for Harold Shaw, Dad James and Mum Elizabeth, but I can't find them on the 1881, if the marriage for 1878 is correct! What do I do now? Apologies if this comes out printed in a whopping paragraph! Thanks Lisa
