Linda Glad you finally found them, it looks like Thomas was born c1831 then, so the 1851 i found earlier, with father James is a good possibility.... Ive no idea how you get info from IGI index...... i think if you visit a local LDS church/centre they could help as they have catalogues that can be viewed on micro film/fiche???

Hi Linda The plot thickens indeed. I have just had a quick look at the 'Marriage Index' images for that marriage and it does confirm what the BMD data suggested. Thomas Pemberton married Hannah White Oct QTR 1870 - West Bromich GRO Ref - 6b 1064. Sorry should have given you that ref last night....Paul

the plot thickens!! Been to West bromwich RO they have no record of that marriage! lady was very helpful searched 2 years either way too. So where do I go from here? could it be that they were just missed off the register at West Brom and is my only hope now waiting weeks for GRO?

I saw that too Linda, he's not very consistant with either his birth year or place, so it's anyones guess... It is possible the informant was'nt sure of his age... If you get the marriage cert for Thomas and Hannah it may give you more clues, ie his fathers name, age when married, etc... Im off out for a while now, will check back later... Good luck! Lib :))
