did they all live in staffs area? All 3 being key smiths is no surprise, Willenhall used to have a HUGE lock industry if she was with John poole in 81 but then marries again in 82 are we to assume that John poole died?

The mystery ...what was Matilda's maiden name? 1871 I find Matilda with John Poole and three Poole kids (one being Emma Poole) also..... two step sons. Chas and Able Horton. Sent for Hortons birth certs. Both boys parents are...George Horton and Matilda nee Powell. Searched and found marriage of Matilda Powell and George Horton 1856 a witness is a David Wilkinson (remember this name for later) The plot thickens... 1881 Matilda now a widow but no Horton step sons. This isn't a problem as they would have been 22 and 24. 1882 Matilda marrys John Horton! Brides fathers name 'James Parkes' (deceased) One of the witnesses to the marriage was Emma Poole (my great grandma) So this is definatly my Matilda! They had one daughter and named her Matilda Emma. Then!..... I was looking for David Wilkinson (remember him?) and found this in 1881... Household:1881 Name Relation Marital Status Gender Age Birthplace Occupation Disability David WILKINSON Head M Male 48 Willenhall, Stafford, England Keysmith Ann WILKINSON Wife M Female 46 Willenhall, Stafford, England Joseph PEARSON Lodger W Male 78 Willenhall, Stafford, England Locksmith Samuel WILKINSON Lodger W Male 78 Willenhall, Stafford, England Keysmith Charles WILKINSON Son U Male 31 Willenhall, Stafford, England Keysmith Richard HORTON Lodger W Male 72 Willenhall, Stafford, England Keysmith John HORTON Lodger U Male 30 Willenhall, Stafford, England Keysmith George Hortons father was Richard Horton so I think george and John were brothers! (correct ages) This all ties up so neatly but WHAT THE HELL WAS HER FLIPPIN MAIDEN NAME?!!Parkes or Powell? Cannot find any of the Poole childrens births! or a Poole marriage! Have even looked for John Pooles death and NILCH! All three guys were key smiths. I dont think anyone can give me the answer but it helps to write it down and share it. ...and you thought you had a brick wall!! :-((( OK! off loaded now...thanks for listening :-)) I think it's time to put Matilda in her folder and let her rest........for now! I keep saying this but find myself going back to her again .....and again! lol Gerri x
