I bet he wouldn' t have said that 12 months later when the 'dear little baby' was teething (like my little granddaughter)!! Seriously though, a 'nice touch' - It shows at least that some of them were human, even if illiterate !! Dea x

A census enumerator is the person who went around the district issuing the census forms (schedules) and then went and collected them up again after census night. if anyone couldn't fill in their own form he would help and on going home he would then copy the information on the schedules into their official books known as census enumerators' books. The pages we can view today are the pages from the enumerators books. Merry
