There's a sense in which the historical detail is public property, so you're in weaker territory there. However, I should have thought that, with the way the GR trees work, if he doesn't have permission to include the living people, the historical ones who aren't related would inevitably fall off when he removes the ones that he isn't allowed to include? - assuming GR enforces the permissions thing. Christine PS - hope not too many people read the garbled post I put up first time around!

Val wish I'd never started Report 29 Apr 2006 16:27

I contacted someone who had a rellie in his Tree he gave me permission to view it and I did the same, the upshot was he sent me a Gedcom of the rellie concerned and the family line, I had never sent anyone a gedcom before so asked him how to do it , the upshot is I sent him the whole Tree not realising , and he has put all on his Tree even my family who are not related at all, including living relatives . The problem is now whenever I or contacts that are rellies try to find any matches his lot keep coming up, you find yourself starting to get excited then realising its him again. I did email him and he seemed to think its the fault of the GR contacting system. I have just asked him to kindly delete my lot , if no joy what can I do thanks
