ordered mine 9th April e.d.d was 4th May-they arrived today!-so bang on but still nearly a month wait. It is better if you can order from the local office where the event took place.I have done this when possible and received certs within 3 days Kat:))) |

i ordered mine beginning of april via post and it took 2 and a half weeks cos easter was in the middle, i ordered a marriage cert last week from a local office took 7 days and there was a bank holiday weekend in between!! |

Ordered latest lot the week before Easter, dispatch date was supposed to be the 5th, they all came last Saturday. |

Gill, This is the address of the site which will tell you about getting army records:- http://www.army.mod.uk/contacts/divisions/records.htm Helen, As for certificates from the GRO, I ordered one on 16th April, and the despatch date is 10th May. I rang this morning to see if they were still behind with orders and there is a message on their phone saying there will still be delays up to the end of May, so I'm not holding my breath that the certificate will be sent out on the 10th. I was lead to believe they are working on another series of WDYTYA but not sure how true this is, or when its coming out, guess any certs would be better ordered now for next year! |

I wasn't given a despatch date, not sure why. I haven't (yet) been told they can't locate any so fingers crossed that my hunches have paid off and when the info comes it will actually be what I was hoping for... whenever it does come. |

hyah just ordered some this aft from ssouthport and told they would be approx 17 days which is better that 5 weeks ago when delivery was 3 weeks ordered one this aft from local registry office and i will have it on thursday xx |

Ooooooooh Ang!!! How can I type with my fingers tightly crossed??????? LOL - Hope granddad's army record comes that quickly! When my father-in-law applied for his own service record (when he was aged 87), my husband phoned the MoD to say if they didn't hurry up, my father-in-law might be dead before the record arrived. They still took 13 months! Merry |
