Hi lesley, Thanks for all your efforts, really appreciate it, it is so annoying when that happens eh?!! it has happened to me before with uneven men and women (that brings up a rather disturbing mental image!!) Will do as you suggest. Am off for some caffeine now. Take care and thanks Karenx

Hi Lesley and Helen, No William Franklin got married in Somerset or anywhere even close in the whole of 1839. Beginning to think they lived in sin!! Heather the Positive Thinker said she had one couple who married 17 years after the birth of the first child!! Will go back to 1837 and start again, but beginning to despair, that wine bottle will be open early tonight!! Thanks again girls karen x

Girls Got back and would like to let you know.... Bristol is in Gloucestershire not Somerset! ON GRO indexes the code for the area would be 11 (or XI as we're talking about the early records) I've googled St Philip and found that the 1835-1840 marriage records should be covered in Boyd's Index. Now got to find somewhere I can search Boyd's online, or maybe another post is required as someone may have got a CD of boyd's. i'll try and find what's available. Later - have put out a call on boards, British Origins should have Boyd's.

Hi helen, Back in those days Bristol was split between the county of Gloucestershire and the county of somerset, found this out on British origins. They also have the Boyds marriage index which I have checked and to no avail, bloody hell I hate this tree building lark sometimes!! Have got the tip from Lesley about name change am thinking of Dizzy Blonde, but not sure yet!! Thanks for being so helpful, please let me know if I can help you out sometime, we have to stick together, stops us going mad I think!! karen xx
