I have an old family prayer book with the following inscription in the front 'Mary Sharpe - The gift of her affectionate daughter - Maria Pryke - 1848'. I know who Mary Sharpe was - my ggg grandmother, her son Robert being my gg grandfather, however I cannot find Maria anywhere. She must have been Robert's sister and must have married a Pryke but I can't find a marriage or any census details. Robert was born in Gt Saxham, Suffolk (in 1823) as were other siblings that I have found so I presume Maria was born there as well. Can anyone help, please. Thank you, Gerald |
