It could just be that her death reg is one of the few that didn't make it through to the GRO death indexes. Suggest you contact Blackburn reg office. You have the date and place of death. Please try and be sure you know what surname they should look for! The death cert will give you her maiden name and date and place of birth (the date of birth would normally be in the index!!)......If the informant at death knew this information (and what they had was correct) then it should enable you to know if the birth reg I gave you was the correct one. I've already looked under Nuttall Q3 1980 and also under Davenport and there are no Barbaras Why was she cremated using her maiden name? Merry

she cant be reg as Barbara Nuttall in 1980 cos I,ve looked now at all the qtrs for 1980 and she not there. How sure are you she died in 1980 crossed with you reply .so she must have reg under a different name on death cant see Nuttall or McCorkindale or Davenport in 1980 death refs

Merry Report 22 May 2006 11:54

Kelly Report 22 May 2006 11:53

Merry

Merry Report 22 May 2006 11:52

Though she would only be 63 at death for the birth cert I found. Not that that is a problem.....just that as you said she was born in 1916 I only checked 1916 and 1917 Q1. I didn't check 1915. Merry

Merry

Merry Report 22 May 2006 11:50

Oh, didn't realise you have seen the death cert!! And was she Barbara M??? Does Chesterfield sound likely for a place of birth? There were not many Barbara's around in 1916. Merry

Kelly

Kelly Report 22 May 2006 11:48

the certificate ive seen said her age was 64 in 1980

Merry

Merry Report 22 May 2006 11:44

The Glamorgan death is Q4 1980 (ancestry are dishing out the wrong page!!) I thought I'd be clever and check on 1837online, but there are no Barbara Nuttalls in Q3!! Merry

thers no death reg for barbara mccorkindale july 1980 BUT theres one for Barbara Nuttall dob 21.5.1908 S.Glamorgan 28 2439. this doesnt tie district wise tho with a death in Blackburn or birth date

There's a Barbara M Davenport registered for birth in Q1 1917 (you get 6 weeks to reg a birth, so she could have been born in Dec 1916 or even the end of Nov) The details are 1917 Q1 Chesterfield 7b 1359 Mum's maiden name Turner Merry
