Already have one rellie who is on the 1841 census as not born in the county and then is dead by the 1851 census, i do wish they would have more consideration these rellies!!! thanks again x

Hi Zoe, I am pinning all my hopes on the fact that he was a brushmaker, Once I have the fathers name, I will look up everyone who has a brushmaker for a son who is either William Henry or Henry, bloody hell better put aside a week for that!! Thanks again Zoe

Hey merry, Is this the 1881 census? I saw this record and thought it a possibility as the district was correct and her daughter was a visitor somewhere else, but I didn't spot that she was already a widow!! Cant see the wood for the trees sometimes eh?!! sometimes after looking at the screen for hours it is good for someone else to look, thanks so much you, he must have died betwen getting married in 1876 and the 1881, the inconsiderate bastard!! Will have to wait for the marriage cert to find him at home in the 1871 census, but I still have no idea where or when he was born, that is why i was trying to find him on the 1881 census. Thanks to everyone who has helped i reaaly appreciate it x

Zoe

Zoe Report 30 May 2006 10:05

Looks like you will need his fathers name from the marriage cert to trace him as he seems to have died by 1881 Zoe

Merry

Merry Report 30 May 2006 10:04

I think he is dead in 1881, Fuzzy! Merry

I think this may be the mum: She is already a widow. Horsleydown is good enough to say Southwark for place of birth next time round. Mary is down as a dressmaker. 1881 Emma L. Hi, Sorry Merry, think wine in evening has addled brain! never used to drink until I started all this!!! His wife was born circa 1845 in Southwark London, at least thats what the census says!! Georgina, am awaiting the marriage certificate from the GRO, have tried both the 1871 and 1881 census which by then he would have been married to Mary. Fuzzy x

Georgina Report 30 May 2006 09:46

Fuzzy there are just too many Henry Reed's in 1871 to check them all, have you get their marriage certificate, what is his fathers name? Georgina.

You have told us when and where the daughter was born, but I can't see that you have said when and where the mum was born (only that you know!! LOL) Tell then! Merry
