Hi I have William Francis Bowder Francis Pascoe Ellen Medlin Harriet Williams Married Sept q 1876 in Falmouth Cornwall. Any ideas how I can find who married who, looked on IGI.... nothing listed, of course if I look on Ancestry I will have the same page and ref for all four peeps, looked for on 1881 census.... ahhhh I can't find anyone even remotely close???? Help please.... is the only option to order a copy of marriage? Thanks Lisa

I guess it's a marriage to a chap in your line somewhere. If so have you got him in the 91 or 1901 census? Which one is your rellie and what census details have you got for them so far Glen

Hi Glen...... Ellen Medlin is my relation, I have her in 1871, can't find her single after this census, can't find a death that ties in so it is really is it her married or not, if you know what I mean....

Where was she born and roughly when (as per census details from71 and/or earlier if you know) Glen

what you do is go to the next available census after the marriage and do 2 searches ellen pascoe ellen bowder see if one fits with the right named husband,and that there arent any glaring errors like kids that are too old.

I think Harriet Williams married William Francis Bowder/n The first child would fit in with a 1876 marriage. Hi Glen 1871 census shows James Midlin (trans error) age 72 years, Porter, Widower, born 1799 Budock, Falmouth. Ellen Midlin age 22, unemployed servant, unmarried, born 1849 in Falmouth. Mary Ann Midlin, g/daughter age 4 years, address is something like Franc?? Court, Falmouth Lisa

Heres more. William Francis Bowden died Falmouth 1881 age 22 (freebmd), which explains the W for Widow on the 1881 Census.

Is this the couple you want or do you want a quick search for Ellen and Francis?

Hi Ann Thanks for looking, my only worry with that one is that Ellen is listed as born Constantine, mind you kind of on the outskirts of Falmouth..... earlier census has her either Budock or Fal, which in effect is in the same place..... food for thought though Lisa

Hi Lou, It is who ever Ellen Medlin married, in 1871 she is unmarried, living with her dad but there is a grand child age 4 there, I wondered if this was one of Ellens children as I can't find the littlie after 1871 either, Lisa

There is also another 1849 born Ellen age 22 as a servant in the in the 61 census.(is the 22 yr old servant you mentioned in the 71? it would make her born c 1859). Living with parents James and Ann. Glen

I did find a possible for the 4 year old in the 1881,living with another couple and down as daughter,i have also seen the 1855 Constantine born Ellen as well. Just thinking if the original '71 result is right.The age of 22 in 1871 seems to be throwing me. Glen

Hang on the one i found in 61 is born abt 1850 in Falmouth but aged 22 in 1861!!!!!Maths not good today.Doh! Glen
