TinaTheCheshirePussyCat Report 4 Jun 2006 23:11

I have a cat that poos in the bath if she gets caught short upstairs. I think this is remarkably intelligent of her, since it is much easier to clean up from there. I have discussed with her the possibility of her using the actual toilet, but she complains that the men (two-legged) in the household always leave the seat up and she is afraid she will trap her tail when trying to put in down. Going off now to google for green cones and try to find out what the h*** this thread is about. Tina

Hi guys, if we are talking recycling - Ive just bought 2 large compost bins through the local councils website - cant remember the addy now, try googling recycling local government - enter your local council and it tells you if they are running the scheme. Or you could always ring your local council I guess. We had a leaflet come through the door - a ginormous one with doors etc is £20 and the two big green ones Ive bought were £6 each. They reckon the £6 ones are £60 retail and the ginormous one about £115 normally. Oh and they give you a kitchen recycling bin as a freebie.

Dorothy (Oh, at last someone who wants to know what a green cone is....) Its a big green thing which fits over a basket which you bury in the ground. Into it you fling all cooked food (and raw too if you want to) and sprinkle it with special powder. It then rots silently away, no smell, no flies, no rodents. Saves smelly dustbins, saves smelly stuff going on a long journey to a landfill site (we have none left here in Cornwall). Its an all round jolly good thing to have, helping to save the planet. We also recycle our recyclables (!) in plastic bins which the Council collect fortnightly, and garden waste once a month - the sort you wouldnt put in the compost heap. In our area there are sinister rumblings that the Council are going to start weighing our Wheelie Bins and charge by weight. OC
