Hi Betty, It's probably a good idea to empty your temporary internet files from time to time because some times you get some corrupt stuff in there! Corrupt sounds worse than it is! If you ever get this problem again, always try emptying your temporary internet files first. Cheers, Horatia

Hi Betty, Nothing to worry about at all. It won't do any harm to your computer and it may work. Open Internet Explorer. Go to TOOLS/INTERNET OPTIONS/ In the middle section of the dialogue box is a section called Temporary Internet Files. Click on the part that says DELETE FILES (its only rubbish in there anyway) A dialogue box will pop up. Put a tick in the part that says Delete all offline content Shut Internet Explorer. Shut down your Pc, reboot and then see if it has made a difference. Cheers, Horatia

Deleting your tempory internet files will not cause you to lose anything at all, do what Ron said, all you will lose is your passwords being remembered by any websites where you have asked for it to remember you, that's no problem you'll just have to log in again as normal when you visit those sites. Hi Horatia, No I don't have a clue how to do that!! Will I loss anything I already have by doing this?? Betty

Carol Report 12 Jun 2006 20:34

Betty, it's not Outlook Express where the tools option is it's when you have internet explorer open, like when you are on any website. Then go to tools and do what Ron said. Carol www.genealogyprinters*com

You can't be reading the instructions properly because you don't search for these names you TYPE them in. Please read instructions by using this link: http://support.microsoft(.)com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;823301 Copy this link into your Internet Explorer address bar and then remove the brackets around the (dot) before the word com, press GO and then you should be able to read the instructions on the website which are very easy to follow. Cheers, Horatia

Give this a try: Fixing “Website Can’t Be Found” and other Site Error Messages More than likely you have trouble with accessing quite a few sites.....particularly getting the message 'website can't be found' among a few other error messages. Try the following and it should solve your problem. 1. Go to START. 2. Click on CONTROL PANEL. 3. Click on INTERNET OPTIONS. 4. Change NUMBER OF DAYS TO KEEP IN HISTORY to “0” and click APPLY 5. A box appears with tabs labeled across the top. Click on ADVANCED. 6. Scroll down to the sub-heading SECURITY. 7. Make sure the following has check marks next to it: Use USE SSL 2.0, USE SSL 3.0 and USE TLS 1.0. 8. Also make sure you check off EMPTY TEMPORARY INTERNET FILE WHEN BROWSER IS CLOSED. More than likely USE TLS 1.0 is not checked of and it should be. This will give you the error messages, as well as a few others, that will prevent you from viewing web sites and the error you are getting. Make sure you empty your cookies cache as well as temporary internet files once in a while, too, as this slows down your computer and these folders tend to 'remember' the errors and may continue to bring them up until the folders are emptied.
