Sorry Marriage Certificate. Once you know the maiden name of the child's mother you know which couple you are seeking. Rather than guessing. Val

Linda that is why i'll have to get a cert. there's too many maybe's Val you say 'Then you can match up the marriages and buy the MC if you need to find bride and groom's parents.' what's an MC?

Carter

Carter Report 15 Jun 2006 10:19

ValT

ValT Report 15 Jun 2006 10:18

Hi I would order a certificate of a child, a child that I am certain about eg Kathleen. Then you can match up the marriages and buy the MC if you need to find bride and groom's parents. Val

Val that's great! The only thing that concerns me is that on the 1901 census it states her birthplace as Sheerness Essex. But then I get confused as to weather I was born in Sussex or Essex so i know it's easy to say one thing one year and another the next.

Wow this is sheer detective work! Which is good cause it's in the blood... I found him on the 1881 census now living in Islington london and he was a police constable :) Elizabeth is also listed on the original as his wife so they were married by 1881. I've got her year and place of birth from the other census that might help me out.
