Pubs In Bristol 1891 Help Please!!!! UPDATE!!!

hiya all, having had a sleep, i decided to have a look at the marriages posted, there is a frances keeling death in 1895, i then looked into seeing if i could find, hubby, he is on census 1901 as widow, frances having died in tiverton district, devon, the question is now, do i send for cert to prove she is mine???? i cannot find her hubby, hubert samuel keeling on 1891 cen, but i assume he will be in clifton/bristol area, his occu on 1901 cen, is house builder, and he was born in 1850 chewton mendip?? somerset, No sign though, of frances's daughter Louisa, anyway, gonna have look see if i can find louisa, if not i give up!!! hiya esta, i had seen that marriage, and if i remember, i did try and chase it up but got nowhere, the was another one as well, poss spouse John Bull (of all names) and a henry edward knight, back in her home town of tiverton1893, but i didnt see any poss links there either, ozibird, yep i found it, thank you u lot are real stars!! thank you ozibird!!!!! and esta, michelle, i did try lost pubs site but all i got was a search engine, couldnt fathom it out, frances lockyer is still a mystery then, oh pooh, at least now i know she didnt croak, just after 1891 cen, just need to find her on 1901, but i'm not going to ask for miricles thanks again, I will try the lostpubs site again Julie

I don't wish to confuse things and I don't know if it's much help but when it comes to the pub....I'm wondering if it's the Navel Volunteer which is ( still ) Hotwells.......I know it's a very old building that dates back a very long time ( 1700's ).......Now adays it'scalled 'The Volly' but I think it's full name is the royal Navel Volunteer...

Volunteer, Lawrence Hill Some landlord(s) as listed in directories, etc: Charles Llewellin* 1844 + 52 Joseph Jarrett* 1861 Volunteer, Milk Street Bronzed gas fittings were stolen from the premises in May 1850. Some landlord(s) as listed in directories, etc: Mary Gane 1836+45 William Watts 1852 James D Llewellin 1857 John Harris 1861 A Porter 1877 John Burber 1882 Henry Rogers 1883 Alfred Eckry was charged at Bristol Police Court in October 1857 with being drunk and disorderly, willfully smashing a pane of glass and assaulting the landlady Mrs Llewellyn and 2 policemen. He was fined 2/- and costs or 7 days with hard labour for the damage, and 40/- and costs or 6 weeks' imprisonment for the assaults Volunteer, Whitehouse Lane Some landlord(s) as listed in directories, etc: Jane Smart* 1849 + 52 There is a section on Bristol publandlords on Bristol information*org but the above is all I could find for the volunteer.

hiya nell, i doubt it, but you can try, her name was Frances Lockyer, (nee Graves) b.1841 uffculme devon, married Robert Lockyer, and had a daughter Louisa Locker, someone found frances mistranscribed on 1881 cen, i have her on 1891, in pub, all details after this are a mystery, (robert died in 1876) louisa b.1863 broadhembury, devon. like i say you can try but i very much doubt you'll find them Julie
