Nope i wasn't too busy,just found two born in March,Cambridgeshire too. Mary Ann Thorbon - International Genealogical Index / BI Gender: Female Christening: 26 MAR 1797 March, Cambridge, England Mary Thorbon - International Genealogical Index / BI Gender: Female Christening: 12 JUN 1800 March, Cambridge, England Both down with fathers surname spelt Thorbun. Problem being i don't know what Rebecca was called before the marriage to John Harrison,plus if she were born abt 1783 she would have been about 45 when she had her daughter.Not impossible i know but........... Actually Glen, if she were a second wife, it may be the first wife is the link to the Thorbons? |

I did wonder that, Just seems strange that so few instances of the Thorbon surname,and two areas really,Guernsey and March. Add in the mariner query and it's easy to see how the name moved. I will get to the bottom of this,it is just too much of a coincedence. Glen |
