I’ve asked for help so often with this man, I feel embarrassed asking again. But here goes! I have my 3 x great grandmother’s(Agness Horswill) marriage and the baptisms of her children and her husband’s burial. All are before 1837, so no certs available. All have been checked by Parish Records. I’ve got Agness’ tree back more than three generations. But I can’t find anything on her husband’s birth. I’ve emailed everyone with that surname(Huband) on the boards, and nobody has him. I’ve checked with people doing Agness’ family and nobody knows him. Their research all stops with Agness’ birth. I’ve googled. I’ve put ads on Curious Fox, Rootsweb, Ancestry, etc. I’ve been in touch with Devon Family History, as he was married in Devon. Huband is not a Devon name, but more from Warwickshire and Worcestershire. I’ve tried those family history groups as well. Does anyone have any ideas of where to go, when I have his marriage, children and death, but no idea when or where he was born?? |

Poor kid, Im much the same - 3 years now chasing one couple. I guess you have checked all the Husbands at it would so easily be written down as that. |

Yes Heather, I've checked Husband, Hubbard etc. I really think it is Huband as it wasn't common in Devon and it is in all the Parish Records, baptisms, burials, etc. |

Snowdrops, I'm in Australia so relied on others to look at records. But Agness came from Ugborough and many generations prior. William, her husband apparently was not from the parish. Cynthia, thank you. Agness Horswill born 1796 Ugborough, Devon married William Huband 14April 1818 Plymouth St Andrew. Children: Sarah 1819; William 1822'William 1824; John 1831; John James 1833. William (senior) death 1833. All children born East Stonhouse. |
