Hi Deb Sorry you can't make it this time. It was great to meet you on the 5th. Joy We WILL meet one day, but possibly next year rather than this! My free Saturdays up to the end of November are already disappearing at a rate of knots and I need to keep a few in reserve for family, friends and (whisper the word!) Housework. Marian I've not used Metropolitan records before. I'll put you down on the list for look ups and let you know if I can't get round to it on Saturday. Nicola Trussell is a relatively uncommon name, so if I've a chance, I'll look for your ancestor. Again, no promises, as I know I have several outstanding lookups. Sally I would love to be able to say yes straight off, but there are three films of Frederick C Smiths, and you have to look at every frame, to make sure you don't miss the next new record. There are 6 reels of Fred Smiths, 10 of Frederick Smiths and another 10 of Fredericks with an initial. In total, the Catalogue produces 597 hits (ie rolls of microfilm) for Smith in WO 363, and there will be more in WO 364. I am keeping fingers, toes and everything else crossed that when Ancestry have copied all the records they will be searchable by regimental number and you will be able to see at a glance if the record survives. If I do get time, I'll have a look, and let you know where I've searched, but long concentrated searches are very hard on the eyes (and surprisingly on the stomach too: the documents are all shapes and sizes and I get travel sick if I spend too long looking.)
