Did it exactly right......even copied and pasted it off here and then removed the brackets. Just can't seem to find it at all. Nothing comes up.

Thats what I get......it's so frustrating.I've tried just googling the freewebs part but there are loads of them. Maybe if I just googled 'Adoption' it would come up ? No good.......just tried googling adoption -tried adoption before 1945 - all sorts but cant see it.

Hi All I have tried it and it is coming up for me I dont understand it.Are you putting in the / at the end? Try the following web address: www(.)freewebs(.)com/jaymaddock/ remove the brackets. Please let me know how you get on. Jayne

Hi Jayne.... Very nice site! As for those of you having difficulty accessing the site, it may not be a site error.....try the fix below....no harm done if it doesn't correct the problem as it should be done anyway: Fixing “Website Can’t Be Found” and other Site Error Messages More than likely you have trouble with accessing quite a few sites.....particularly getting the message 'website can't be found' among a few other error messages. Try the following and it should solve your problem. 1. Go to START. 2. Click on CONTROL PANEL. 3. Click on INTERNET OPTIONS. 4. Change NUMBER OF DAYS TO KEEP IN HISTORY to “0” and click APPLY 5. A box appears with tabs labeled across the top. Click on ADVANCED. 6. Scroll down to the sub-heading SECURITY. 7. Make sure the following has check marks next to it: Use USE SSL 2.0, USE SSL 3.0 and USE TLS 1.0. 8. Also make sure you check off EMPTY TEMPORARY INTERNET FILE WHEN BROWSER IS CLOSED. More than likely USE TLS 1.0 is not checked of and it should be. This will give you the error messages, as well as a few others, that will prevent you from viewing web sites and the error you are getting. Make sure you empty your cookies cache as well as temporary internet files once in a while, too, as this slows down your computer and these folders tend to 'remember' the errors and may continue to bring them up until the folders are emptied. Hi Judy, Thankyou for the advice regarding 'fixing site problem'. That will no doubt come in handy for me in the future lol. Can I also say thankyou to everyone who has visited 'Hope', left messages and wished me well with the site. I am glad that you all like it. Thankyou, Jayne

Hi It maybe that people are having trouble getting onto the site if you are like me and cut and paste the address from the original message. This is because there is a space after the // and before the www causing the problem. I have loaded the site sucessfully once I realised the error. Bye Paul

I guess I must be doing something wrong - I can see the main pages for each section, but where do you read or place any of the messages? All I can find links for is to do with freewebs sites. This sounds like a really good idea but I'm frustrated that I can't see where to click [insert totally dumb icon :o( ]

Gerry O - you have to click on the tiny writing 'guestbook' on the left hand side. It is a bit slow coming up, and you get the posting box first - like an e-mail box - but scroll on down a little and you will see the postings. It took me a while to work it out too, and sometimes the scrolling is a bit delayed. Good luck Eileen

Eileen Report 23 Aug 2006 22:56

cont .... as for getting the site, I luckily put it on to my 'favourites' as soon as it started and have had no trouble at all getting it back via that, however Jayne had not put the word 'adoption' in the site name to start with, has she done it now, and that is why just putting the Hope bit does not work. I have not tried it that way, but its a possibility Eileen

Hi Everyone I cant understand why people cant get onto Hope. I have emailed freewebs about it and I am waiting for a reply. I think you might be able to get on it another way. For those that are struggling if you click on my name here and send me your email address I think I can email it to you. Hope this helps Jayne

Anyone still having difficulty getting on to the site? I could NOT get on using copy/paste on the web address given on page 1 timed 14:06:33. Last part of the address is shown as 'jaNmaddock'. On page 2 Jayne's letter timed at 00:48:12 gives the address as www(.)freewebs(.)com/jaymaddock/. Please note the N has now become a Y. If you copy/paste this last address and remove brackets it's fine! Best of luck with your site Jayne. Pat
