Hi Wendy, That all makes a lot of sense - I'll have to interrogate the father in law some more. Thanks for that. Mark

Just a little bit more - Albert Edward had two brothers who used to visit the family in Bedwellty from Plymouth - Jack and Ernie Cole (named for his father?). I haven't been able to find either of them in 1901. Mark

Elaine, Just found: Florence A. Cole married Haycock in Bedwellty in September quarter 1920 - just a few months before Albert's marriage! Mark

Mark Report 29 Aug 2006 12:59

Yes, me too - Florence is a great find, but (unsurprisingly!) I can't identify her on 1901. Thanks again Mark

Elaine Report 29 Aug 2006 12:43

definitely drawn a blank now!

Mark

Mark Report 29 Aug 2006 12:37

That's okay Elaine - thanks for looking. This family have been doing this to me for ages! The bride's father behaves in a similar way - William Edward Eke at birth but William Frederick on censuses ..... Thanks again Mark

Elaine Report 29 Aug 2006 12:37

back again - just found this birth Florence Annie Cole Year of Registration: 1896 Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec District: Plymouth County: Devon Volume: 5b Page: 268 wonder if she married a Haycock (witness on marriage certificate) - might be worth seeing if we can find her.

Elaine

Elaine Report 29 Aug 2006 12:34

Really cant see anything else - sorry.

Mark

Mark Report 29 Aug 2006 12:34

Elaine

Elaine Report 29 Aug 2006 12:30

Albert´s birth Albert Thomas F Cole Year of Registration: 1889 Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep District: Plymouth County: Devon Volume: 5b Page: 241 not very useful - what´s the F for !!

Elaine

Elaine Report 29 Aug 2006 12:26

See you got there before me !!!

Elaine

Elaine Report 29 Aug 2006 12:26

Wow - am going round in circles here what about this one in 1891 Harold Beer abt 1890 Plymouth, Devon, England Grandson Charles Devon Julia Beer abt 1828 North Devon Wife Charles Devon Thomas Beer abt 1833 North Devon Head Charles Devon Thomas Beer abt 1874 Plymouth, Devon, England Son Charles Devon Albert T F Cole abt 1890 Plymouth, Devon, England Son Charles Devon Bessie Cole abt 1860 Devonport, Devon, England Daughter Charles Devon Mary K Cole abt 1888 Plymouth, Devon, England Daughter Charles Devon Bessie listed as married Mary is Mary R not Mary K possible birth for Mary - which could match the Rhoda in 1901 Births Dec 1887 Cole Mary Rhoda E Plymouth 5b 234 Bit of a long shot but worth hanging on to for the moment !!

Mark

Mark Report 29 Aug 2006 12:19

Ah, I think I've got Bessie - she's living with her father Thomas Beer, Albert must be at sea dredging or whatever. There is a young Albert, but about 10 years too old for mine! Rhoda on 1901 could be Mary R. on 1891 I suppose, and Frederick on 1901 must be Albert T.F. in 1891? So on this basis Harry could be anybody at all! Mark

Elaine

Elaine Report 29 Aug 2006 12:13

Will have a look

Mark

Mark Report 29 Aug 2006 12:12

Elaine, I'm having trouble finding that family again in 1891. Can you see them? Mark

Elaine

Elaine Report 29 Aug 2006 12:05

Not having any luck with either of those suggestions!!

Elaine

Elaine Report 29 Aug 2006 12:02

I found this one - wonder if Harry is a nickname Albert Cole abt 1861 Plymouth, Devon, England Head Plymouth Devon Bessie Cole abt 1861 Plymouth, Devon, England Wife Plymouth Devon Frederick Cole abt 1890 Plymouth, Devon, England Son Plymouth Devon Harry Cole abt 1898 Plymouth, Devon, England Son Plymouth Devon Irene Cole abt 1900 Plymouth, Devon, England Daughter Plymouth Devon Lily Cole abt 1894 Plymouth, Devon, England Daughter Plymouth Devon Rhoda Cole abt 1888 Plymouth, Devon, England Daughter Plymouth Devon Albert - stoker on dredger ? - suppose might have been a labourer 20 years later ? We have a Lily here who could have been one of the witnesses - might be worth seeing if we can find her birth to see if she was Lilian Adline, and also parents marriage to see if father was Albert Edward

Mark

Mark Report 29 Aug 2006 12:01

Elaine, Witnesses were Florence Annie Haycock and Lillian Adline Cole Mark
