I was born in the Commercial Road, and can still 'spit' to it - if it's any help I'll be going to the Bancroft Road Library again next week..... Jeanne

I get the impression from my aunt (who is a bit posh) that she reckoned this lot were a bit flash but Ive not found any evidence of that. Ive found a pic of the hotel they had on the corner of Commercial road, near both East Indies and West Indies docks, so I assume they catered for travellers.

Hi Guy's What on earth have I done...............LOLOLOLOL I bought the CD from Docklands Ancestry and it cost £50 I will go through it and pick out big families (20+) for each church. I am now off work for a week, so will do a couple each day. Will be happy to look stuff up for you, but as there is only me and my laptop, and trillions of you you will need to be patient. I will cut and paste what I have in word, so you'll need to send me you email addy. I'll head each church up as in the title, and it will make it easier to find - Let's say 3 churches per day. Bit of luck, someone will be more fortunate than I have been !!! Jeanne
