I have my g grandads marriage certificate, which has his fathers name and occupation. But I can't find him on the 1901 census with his father. Not knowing were he was born makes this harder. His surname is a popular one so I would have to order lots of birth certificates to find the right one. Has anyone any suggestions please. Jayne

Hi Jayne, You need to put all the information you have down on the thread if you want someone to help you. You need the name, year born, where they were born etc . and what you are now looking for. Are you searching England or Scotland. Betty

Ha Ha Hi Everyone Accutually the pain did get too much for me. I have had a bad reaction to malaria tablets that I have been put on. I have spent the last 2 days in major pain. I cant keep still for long so sorry about that. The Pain in my name was a good choice. HA HA. Anyway here goes. My g grandfathers name was William Collins. His wifes name was Mary Ellen Cosgrove ( if you look back on this board you will notice I have been asking for help with the Cosgroves ) They were married on the 27th June 1905 he was 22 and a mariner. His address on the certificate was Earle Street. His fathers name was William Frederick Collins, deceased. He was a plumber. I have found a William Frederick Collins on a couple of census but there is never a William there. Thankyou Jayne

Thankyou for the offer Debbie but I dont think thats him. On Williams marriage certificate it says his father was a plumber. I have found a William Frederick Collins, plumber on a census but his son is Willoughby not William. Jayne
