Sharon,

Two out of 3 censuses have him born in the Liverpool area. The 1891 has him born Garston which means West Derby district. I think the registers have been moved to Liverpool now. You could contact them and say you're looking for a Parry born to Edward and Mary 1877/1878 and see if they can find him. It could be he was just John on his birth cert but Edward was added later.

sweetylady Report 5 Aug 2008 17:20

andy thanks for your help

And Von too - thanks

I think the west derby birth 1878 I sent for but Edward didnt vcome up as the father so they did not send it to me.. I asked for about 3 over a period of about 5 years which i though it could be
I recieved none back

the death is interesting
again the John was suppose to have been at boarding school ( how true?? but being a clerk, was propably educated) when his father died, this was possibly when he was 12-14 which would make it about 1890 though ( give or take a year)

He is supposed to have died under a train in Snow hill station but wondered how to find deaths connected with the station to see if there were any clues, would think in the 1880-90 it would have been big news - any ideas?

IF Edward was the Edward who died in 1886 in Birmingham

would his son still be at the Tavellers School in 1891??

I don't think there's any reason to assume he wouldn't still be at the school. I'd be inclined to believe census records and not a 120 year old story that's been passed on.

He's not with his mother in 1891 and she is a widow at that point.

Rose thanks again

if i could find out the school he was at I could propblly look at the records for it.. I know Von told me to look at the Achieves Website was a bit mind blowing and couldnt find the info..

but not knowing the school didnt help

but how would she still be paying for school if Edward was dead 5 years ago?

suppose have to find the census and look at her OCCUPATION might be on own mean which would mean she was left money - dont you think?
