My gut reaction is that Sparrow is the name of Edward Sparrow PRESTON's real father. This happened on one of mine - where mum gave child the father's surname as a middle name. Jill

Found Elizabeth with Margaret (widow) Preston in 1861. Elizabeth shows as Betsey. Also in household are Sarah Duncan (19) daughter in law and Edward Duncan (6) son in law. I think this is her daughter Sarah and her grandson Edward. Bit confusing though. How do you know for sure which of these two Elizabeth's is your one? Jill

hi Julie, yes that would be great, what i am actually trying to find aswell, is a marriage for the parents as i am trying and hoping to find the maiden name for elizabeths mother. Elizabeth had an illigitimate son (Abraham Sparrow Preston) and i am hoping to find a connection for sparrow. Julie xx

I can't find Elizabeth with Margaret on the 61 but have Elizabeth with George and May Ann if you need it Julie

Found the widow Preston in 1841 with hubby and other sibs: Isaac Preston (35), Margaret (30): Isaac - 11, Jacob 9, Ann 7, Joseph 4, William 2. Penn Street, Wolverhampton. It looks from image as if Margaret and Isaac junior are miners - they both say 'Home/Miner' seems a bit odd but ... Jill
