Hi Julie, I don't think he was, as Elizabeth married John Carrington in 1868 the year after Abraham was born. That is why Abraham cannot be found in the census untill 1901 anyway, because he took on the name of Carrington up untill his marriage in 1891. Julie xx

Hi Julie, Yes i am trying to find a connection and John's Parents aswell. I am hoping that i can find the connection through Elizabeth. Abraham does have a son called John W, however he was born 1897 and my John was born 1880. Also Abraham would have been much too young to be my Johns father. But i do think they may be cousins or something. Julie x

Hi Julie, Thats the problem, i cannot find his birth anywhere. All i can find is his death in 1955. I have his Death certificate. All i know and not 100% sure, was that he was from Leicestershire. If only he and my g grandmoter had got married it would have been so much easier. I have also been told that he was a major in the army and was shot in the foot in India, and on his return home he had to have his leg removed. He then met my g grandmother Sarah Meeds nee Sawyers and lived with her in Brighton up untill his death. Julie

Julie i just found his death you know with their marriage what years have you search. my nans parent didn't marry till 14 years after she was born and she was the youngest of 3

julie cos of the name Sparrow i'd say that Abraham and John were either brothers or father and son, anything else would be something we would want to go there if you know what i mean

Hi Julie I really don't know what to do, it could be his age at time of death could be wrong and that the John with Abraham on the 1901 could be him cos of the Sparrow connection. Im sorry i can't be of more help. Julie xx

Julie I've just had a look and theres someone on here called Jennifer that has Abraham Carrington and Elizabeth Preston with the right years and birth place on here have you been in touch with her. Julie

Hi ya, I think i was in touch with her last year, as i have Birth and Marriage certificates for Abraham and Susannah, as like you i did think that abraham was my Johns father, but because of the age differences, it has thrown me a bit as he would have been 13 when John was born and Susannah would have been 7 years old. Unless like you say he was actually a lot younger than his death states. Julie
