Hi Heidi, I think the only way to sort this out is to see the original records, they are held as follows:- The register of the parish church of All Saints commences in 1558. The original registers for the period 1558-1899 (Bapts), 1558-1954 (Mar) & 1558-1971 (Bur) and Banns for the period 1870-1872 are deposited at Staffordshire Record Office. Bishops Transcripts, 1673-1853 (with gaps 1711-14, 1733, 1793-94 (Mar), 1803 (Bapts) & 1837-53 (Mar)) are deposited at Lichfield Record Office. Staffordshire Record Office County Buildings Eastgate Street Stafford ST16 2LZ Telephone: U.K. 01785 278379, Overseas (+44) 1785 278379 Telephone: (Bookings) U.K. 01785 278373, Overseas (+44) 1785 278373 Fax: U.K. 01785 278384, Overseas (+44) 1785 278384 Lichfield Record Office (formerly Lichfield Joint Record Office) The Friary Lichfield Staffs WS13 6QG Telephone: U.K. 01543 510720, Overseas (+44) 1543 510720

to be honest keith im not sure where the death came from....it was in another family tree i found by accident on sedgley site and then again on ancestry...i just took that fro granted....the richard here was a 6x cousin once removed which is why i didnt until now needed to look further..it could be i was misinformed and he didnt die and therefore married elizabeth....however i have looked eeply and cant seem to connect my richard to susannah's father richard... im sorry i know its confusing....xx but i appreciate your time and effort xx

At the moment, no idea about his birth. I would have expected them to have married, but I cannot see a marriage for them anywhere between 1795 +- 10 years in Staffordshire.

Heidi, I bet Susanna did not sign on her marriage? I would not be surprised if this is yours, most people could not read and write at that time, so had to rely on others spelling it as they thought.

Heidi

Heidi Report 23 Feb 2007 19:44

thank you keith....i agree it could be mine...probably is....but am so stuggling to find info on her father richard....i need to link him into the tree...as i have so many names by collins it can get confusing any ideas? xx
