Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 29 Mar 2007 23:30

Hi Victoria Was only wondering cos we had a similar situation altho ours was a falling out many moons ago with another generation. I contacted an Aunt who initially was frosty cos she and my Mum had fallen out BUT with loads of diplomacy ,and, i dont want to get involved with something that wasnt anything to do with me, We did make contact again and started a dialogue that eventually got all the siblings talking again and saying what prats they were all those years ago. I see yours is a different scenario tho, .I hope your contact goes well Shirley

Maybe it was a bit naughty putting it through her letterbox but hey! it's done now! Sit back and try to be patient. Maybe she knows nothing of a Sister being adopted? Give her time...... Good luck and please let us know on this thread if you get a reply? Hope you hear what you want to hear :-)) Gerri x

my mum was adopted in 1952 and through some very special people on this web site they managed to find her sisters address as it is only about 15 mins from where i live i wrote a letter saying that i was doing my family history and that she might be a relative of mine so now i just have to wait. i do feel naughty writting her a letter and posting it through her door but going on what people have said about how long it takes to go through the right channels i think that i have nothing to lose.
