It could be that the family he was with didn't realise he was married.

You need to buy some certs or we could be speculating over who mum is for ever.

Hi Heather Thanks for all your advice. I think your right, I'm now more convinced that Edwin was Sarah's second husband. Because I'm sure the one you have found on 1881 is my Edwin. So I'm going to get a copy of Roberts birth Certificate and a copy of the marriage you found in 1891. Will get back to you when I have received them and let you know the outcome. Knowing my luck their probably have no connection to my Gran at all.
