It's in the blurb under the photo I gave the URL of.

It's an OS grid reference Streetmap actually adds half the precision to both the easting and the northing, so the arrow-tip is actually placed at SH 43050 83050.

SH are the magic letters for 2,3 - a 100km sq that's 200-300 km E and 300-400 km N ot the zero datum point. In old style OS coordinates the arrow tip is at 243050,383050 and you'll see these numbers embedded in the URL after you've done the lookup. The old style coords give the distance in metres east and north of the zero datun point which is 135 km WSW of Lands End.

One quite often comes across an OS grid ref - e.g.,
http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/AGY/Holyhead/StSeiriol
"St Seiriol, Holyhead"
"It is located at SH2441482664" - I prefer to write this as SH 24414 82664 as the spaces make it more readable.

Where did you find the ref 'SH 430 830' ??? It can't be a postcode?

Thanks for that. The position corresponds exactly with the position shown on an early Ordnance survey map (see my message above)
Thanks again

I think it's the building you can just make out on the skyline looking down the road at:
http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1399394
SH4383 : By passed section of the B5111 near Derwen Deg
Subject Location SH 430 830 [100m precision]

If you look up SH 430 830 at http://www.streetmap.co.uk/ and go to zoom level 1 (the maximum zoom-in) you can see the Ty'n-y-gongl marked on map.
Of course, at this high level of zoom, you've no idea where you are, so you'll need to zoom out to higher zoom numbers to see where you are.

I have found Tynygognl. On the website old-maps.co.uk it appears as a tiny hamlet (?) on the road now known as B5111. Try searching the old maps for postcode LL71 8EL

Problem solved..Thanks for your messages.
NB as I mentioned in my original message this is NOT the place near Benllech

Working on the above Post code for Tyn Y Gongl, LLanerchymedd, Coedena LL71 8EL

One post code for Tyn Y Gongl near Benllech is LL74 8SR

Google AA Route planner and enter one post code as your starting point and the other as the Destination. Hit find route.

They are only just over 7 miles apart

Per Google Maps, Tyn-y-Gongl is a small village beside the B5108, and just beside the bigger village (or small town) of Benllech..

EDIT:
No, apparently it's not. See posts below.

I have one birth cert ,and two death certs for events at 'Tynygongl, Coedana RD.' These events occurred1899-1901. But I cannot find it on Ordnance Survey Map. It appears to have been a few miles SE of Llanerchymedd. Coedana is a Parish to the South of Llanerchymedd. Has the name of Tynygongl changed? Please can anyone help? NB this is not the Tynygongl near Benlech.
