Hi Thanks Austin and Mel Fairy Godmother. Austin there is more information and because my friend has most of it and I only have the bare bones , but fortunately with the Irish Censuses and the fact it is the Irish side that she was wanting to research as she has most of the Liverpool connections which I had started for her last year I just keep referring to the internet for anything I am researching for her-quite good fun really Thanks Norma

OK, thanks Norma. I'm presuming you have other information apart from father's names on marriages that link them?
Difficult to know what information you have so I'll leave Maureen to help.

Thought it best put the names of who you are interested in on the board as you're likely to get more help.
"The name of my friends 3 x Gt Grandfather is Arthur Irwin (may shows his middle name of Crawford) He married Hannah M'Master Munn in 1871 in Newtonards
We think he was a widower when he married her so she would like that confirmed and also his occupation on other records I have found for her he was shown as a Merchant but then became a Farmer according to the 1901 and 1911 Census." ---------------------------------------------
This is the marriage on NIdirect:
Reg No: M/1871/C1/984/1/67 Name: Arthur Irwin Partner Name: Hannah Munn Date of marriage: 12th December 1871 Reg district: Castlereagh

Click on Research family history at GRONI then click on Go to GRONI online.
You have to register and buy credits; up to 200; credits cost 40p and 5 paid for a view of an original death entry. You cannot print or download the image. The certs can be ordered on line for £8.

Norma, I think you can view the information on-line without ordering a certificate, but by buying credits.
I'm not sure how it works- but hold off ordering the certificate for now, as if it's just the information from the certificate she needs, someone may provide other information.
What is the name of her Gt x3 Grandfather?

My friend was trying to order a marriage cert for her 3 x Gt Grandfather married in Newtonards(which is now part of NI I think) in 1871 using the General Registry Office in Dublin. There has been a warning when she tried to order that only certicates that had been registered after 1903 can be sent for.. Has anyone got any ideas how this certtficate could be obtained Thanks in anticipation Norma
