Thank you all.
I found a passenger record for a person iam tracing she was going to US in 1927 to join her sisters, she was born in Ashton -in-Makerfield in 1910 lost her parents Michael and Catherine Carlon by 1921.
On the record it gave name and address of nearest relative from whence you came and she has reported Uncle Martin Gara 4 Lily Place Ashton-in Makerfield. I know it was a long shot but thought I would try and see who lived at 4 lily Place.
I cant see a Martin Gara in 1901 or 1911 census. The woman in 1939 married to Thomas lydon I thought it could be dau of Martin Gara.
Thank you

Thank you again for your replies.
Iam helping the grandson of Annie Carlon b1900 dau of Michael Carlon and yes Catherine HUGHES. The couple married in Ireland in 1891 and by 1901 census where in Ashton in Makerfield, the children all born in Lancs as per census.
Catherine the mother died in 1918 and father in 1921. Mary Carlon seems to have disappeared she was supposed to be a nurse but I cant locate a marriage, death,or emigration and according to her sisters didn't follow them to US. The other girls went to US and Margaret was the last to go in 1927 aged 17yrs. The sisters stayed close but did not talk much of their homeland.
I do see the link to notice made by Annies grandson. I was able to find the parents grave for him.
I will have to look again at passenger list as I thought I noted it as uncle Martin Gara.
Mr P Gara ? he could have been uncle if Catherine Hughes had a sister Agnes I will have to try and locate in Co Mayo we know the area in Kiltimagh the Hughes came from.
You have been very helpful, if anyone has any way to find the missing Mary Carlon he would be most grateful.
Thank you

If you already have Catherine Hughes and Michael Carlon's MC, then it would be worth buying a copy of Patrick Gara & Agnes Hugh's. You can then compare the name given for the brides father.

I have just looked again at the passenger record and the name does look like Mr P, with the overprint I had taken it as Martin for some reason. This marriage of Agnes Hughes to Patrick Gara is most promising. I will suggest getting the marriage cert for them as suggested.
Annie's grandson is coming to Lancs soon to see the area and graves of his family.
