Probate registery

I am just about to order a copy of a will of someone who died last year, almost certainly in Chester. However, the probate registery in this case is London. Does anyone know why that should be? |

It was the prefered Registry of the Solicitor or the Executor if they handled it themselves. |

OH's mother died in Worthing. OH was the executor and we live in Scotland. The nearest registry in England/Wales was in Carlisle, so probate was granted there. |

We live in the Medway area of Kent . I did my husbands probate last year and had to send it to the probate office in Brighton |
