Sorry for any confusion. Yes the death may well be him. I still can't understand why Sarah would be n the workhouse with all those children in the Dudley area.

From that link, Patricia, it looks like William's death could have been the 1857 death in Dudley which I posted earlier.

If you'd told us at the beginning that Sarah was his wife, it would have been helpful.

I cannot find Williams Death or Sarah's. Whether she dies in the workhouse I do not know.

I know William was his son, I have researched all that my new info to add to the census comes from a settlement about his wife in Shardwell settlements here
