His parents were THOMAS OXLEY & ADA OXLEY(fomerly Carter) shown on birth certificate & resident at 37 Hillside, Chesterfield
1881 Census indicates family now living at 42 Newland Dale, Chesterfield but appear to have changed family name to CARTER (Ada's maiden name), the famiily being :-
