For anyone interested

Have just taken out a 1 year sub for £49.75 under a Special Offer (apparently on Facebook) but I did it through Lost Cousins

Offer closes 31 July or before if they reach their "targets" :-)

Not available for to current subscribers but I am a "lapsed" member and was accepted

Glad you made a saving. I saw the offer on the Lost Cousins newsletter but unfortunately I already have a subscription to FMP. :-(

They seem to have a cashflow problem.

My thoughts exactly Joan. But my friend and I succumbed to the temptation.

Mind you neither of us have yet worked out how to use the new & 'improved' FMP. It is Ok if you go straight to some of the specialist records but census and bmd's defeat me!

I have not really had any problems.....at first a few

Electoral rolls no problem....post as though you want a census, if you don't know the date of birth make one up in the last 50 years or so and you will only get electoral rolls only

Managed to search census by address....well I put my road name in...registration district and parish and it came up with all the residents of the street

When you get the "Census, Land and Surveys" page up, go to just above where it says "Census" and you should see "all collections". Drop down that box and "Electoral Rolls" is in there.

I wish we could have the old search back - and also the old Genes site too. Liked them both more 10 years ago!!!

My yearly sub to FMP was just renewed for $59.99 which works out to about 35 pounds sterling.

Is that the US version Margee? If so I was offered that last year but wasn't keen on the format so stuck with the UK version which unfortunately went over to the same as the US but more expensive and didn't included world wide records

As a lapsed member, this is what I was offered
"Treat yourself (or your family) this summer with a £40 Marks & Spencer gift card. Simply click on the button below to purchase your annual Britain subscription for £99.50 and get everything you need to start your family history research"

So deducting the 'free' M&S voucher, it works out as £59.50

Not sure if it's the US version, jax, it's findmypast.com. It is worldwide with a lot of UK records.

Acually I rarely use the site, I find it difficult to navigate. Not sure why I renewed, probably because it was such a good deal. Must be that Yorkshire blood in my veins!

Yes that's the US version, they bought it out a couple of years ago for the same sort of price you are paying.....a lot of us tried it for the first year but were not impressed so didn't renew. As I said the UK version is now the same but a lot more expensive.

The facebook page has been inundated with complaints about it since the changes in April
