Thank you everyone. Very sorry about the typo in my first post. William's date of birth should read 1817 so the post should have been like this:-

Hi - I am looking in the 1841 census for William Hanson b 1817 Whitwick Leicestershire. In the 1851 census I can find him living at Woodend Heanor with his wife Amy b 1816 and sons William b 1845 and George b 1847 but I can't locate him in the 1841 census.

You've asked before about this family. I recognise this record.....having posted it on the other thread!!!

Don't forget that in 1841 ages of over-15's were rounded-down to nearest '5'..........................so his birth year is likely to be recorded as 1821................as with Amy's

Not with Amy in 1841...........wondered if he might have been

i think you need to change williams birth date as your looking for him in 1841 but you have put his birth date as 1871
