Google 'family tree template'

Choose one which you think suits your needs and download.

...........then print it out when you have added the details

But bear in mind the limitations of most domestic printers.......... A4 paper

Re presenting the tree in written form - I use RootsMagic, which allows me to print out details of either descendants of ancestors of any person in my tree, like a story. There are also other genealogy programmes which do this.

Re background information - that comes from census records (occupations, addresses, etc) , and reading between the lines
Just add any details you find about your people.

Some people like to add notes re what was going on politically or socially in the country at the time.

At present my tree is little more than a list of names and dates so I would like some advice on how to find more background information to add to it and make it more interesting. Also I would like to be able to present it in a written format rather than online so I would welcome some advice on that to. Thank You
