Jax, I understand that, But dormant or active GR will still remove living people from tree's when permission was not given for them to be added to that tree

jax Report 6 Mar 2014 19:39

I think that particular tree is dormant Roy.....she has two other trees since without Annemarie in......maybe different email address which is now no longer in use??

Porkie_Pie Report 6 Mar 2014 19:35

If the member concerned has you in their tree and says it's not you then as suggested before contact GR and have them remove you from that tree.

It's against GR rules them to have you a "living person" in a tree on GR without your permission.

GR will remove the details if the tree owner refuses

Read the other thread...................it MIGHT clarify things for you

The research Annemarie needed, was to find out how a particular person was related to her...who just happens to have her and her parents in their tree.....so not really the need for a researcher just a way of contacting her to ask, as there didn't seem to be a direct link

jax Report 5 Mar 2014 14:51

Just to add you will find her on facebook in her married name with the name you have in brackets

She is also on the electoral roll with her husband....but really do not think you need to write to her to ask why you are in her tree

jax

jax Report 5 Mar 2014 14:28

I have replied to your pm...didn't realise you had a thread about it already

She maybe very distantly related, there are people who just like adding names of distant relatives not thinking the that living ones will notice

Edit- The person who has you in her tree could be using her married name.....or there is one born wales in the 1970s

As already mentioned there are three entries for her possibly all her trees send a message to the most recent membership number beginning 109*****

Annemarie, Is this related to your other thread?

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/ancestors/thread/1338045

You have some answers on that thread

Not all trees are acurate, People only have to enter one wrong individuel to their tree in order to link with and record un-related famiies as part of their tree

The best thing you can do is to do your own research, prove that research with documentary evidance and IF the connection is their you will find it.

When you get stuck then ask for help on GR

A professional researcher will cost abt £30 per hour plus expences and it could take them weeks with no guarantee of them finding any connection at all

jax Report 5 Mar 2014 13:04

Are you just stuck on a particular person/branch?

I see you have made 12 posts so I would imagine you have made a start on your tree?

MargaretM Report 5 Mar 2014 13:01

Don't do it Annemarie. Start it yourself with what you know then ask for help here. We're much better, working as a group than any professional researcher. And we do it for free!

Potty

Potty Report 5 Mar 2014 12:37

Google? but much more rewarding to do it yourself and if you are stuck, there are plenty of people on here who are ready and willing to help.
