Hi Kucinta
Sorry I noticed this later. The joys of trying to read on my phone :(
I have discovered Mary Gannon came from Charles town which is in Swineford, so I think your findings are good ones :)
Just trying to discover if Michael lundy had a middle name now.

Once again thanks for everything - so very much appreciated :)

HI,

Have put civil birth record for Mary Katherine/a Gannon on already.

Don't know how to trace Michael's entry to England

Sorry I only just got the alert of the replies. Thank you.
I would never known Norah waa short for Honoria ! But it does fit. And great work on the births of Mary Kate and Michael. The death record you mention is the correct record. As you say, a year out but based upon memory us close enough :-) I shall certainly have a look at the free link you mention too. You have been very kind and helpful :)

Do such records exist as to when Michael entered England?

Finally, could I be cheeky and ask can you find a Mary Gannon born in Mayo between say 1911 and 1915?

Thank you so much again :-D

for the 1944 marriage index - it gives both Mary's forenames in full.

No middle name given for Michael in the index for the 1944 Wigan marriage.

If this is Michael's death record, then it's either a different man, or the informant was a year out with his age (quite possible - the information was only as good as the knowledge of the person registering the death).

Name: Michael Lundy

Date of Registration: Dec 1970

A couple of possibilities for John Lundy's birth, going by age in 1911.

Registration District: Swineford

Honoria Tarpey<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<????

From Ancestry so not free, but seems like a good possibility? I know my
grandmother was an Honora, but often known as Norah.

Also, I believe Kilbeagh,(census 1911) comes under Swineford Registration district.

PS...and is there any way I can find when any family members, in particular MICHAEL LUNDY, came to the UK? I am hopeful this is the right Michael I am looking for and in which case, he married an Irish girl named Mary Gannon in 1944 in Wigan (I Cannot find any records of Mary though as she was born after 1911 in co. Mayo).

thanks :)

Good evening all

Does anyone know where to look up an Irish marriage record on any free site? I have looked at the Irish 1911 census and found a record that is likely to be mine, and wanted to find the marriage record to fit. I have found on RootsIreland a potential, but it says I then need to buy credits for further info. The marriage just says "John Lundy 1907 Co. Mayo."

In 1911 they are:

Lundy John 29 Male Head of Family R Catholic Mayo Farmer Read write - Married - 4 2 2
Lundy Norah 36 Female Wife R Catholic Mayo Wife Read write - Married - 4 2 2
Lundy Mary Katie 3 Female Daughter R Catholic Mayo - Cannot read - Single - - - -
Lundy Michael 1 Male Son R Catholic Mayo - Cannot read - Single - - - -
Riley Margaret 69 Female Lodger R Catholic Mayo Nurse Cannot read Irish and English Widow - 42 2 -

Any help / infor appreciated.

Thank you
