Not seeing any of them on electoral rolls Or possible marriages for the children.

Maybe they emigrated. Air travel isnt on the records or emigration by sea after c1950

To Thursdayschild Shirley Harrison now Shirley Walker?

Hello,
I am Jeanie Eldon, the surviving daughter of Rita Ivy Eldon! My mother and brother Stephen passed many years ago. I am sole survivor and living in London.
I can't believe I came across this website and your posted message by chance, whilst researching.
Please contact me. I have tried contacting you through this website but it's been over 5 years since you posted and perhaps you changed your email address and are no longer receiving messages? I hope that you check back soon.

Jeannie

I was only posting records at that time so am not connected to your family

The poster Thursday child was the person enquiring

To make contact click on their name and send a message .if they still have the same email address they will receive it and can then reply

In the meantime you should remove your email adrress and telephone number as it's against T and C ,s of the site to post personal info

Anything posted on genes can be picked up by google so you leave yourself open to junk calls and mail

Thank you, I have tried clicking on the name Thursdayschild and sent messages but the message was posted so long ago, I'm wondering if she will ever receive my message now?
Thank you for reminding me of the T&Cs. I was very emotional when I sent the message and shall remove my address and phone number. Sorry.about that.

By the way, Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it, I didn't receive a notification that you had replied on this thread? I just happened to be going through all the threadsearchs. Shouldn't your message have landed in my "Messages inbox" and then send a copy to the email address I used when I signed up?
I'm a bit concerned now because if Thursdayschild ever replies, will I not be notified either?

Jeanie, you should receive a notification when an off board message is sent by the personal messaging system. You’d receive an email sent to your linked normal email address.

If, for instance, Thursdayschild is now using a different one but not updated her GR account, she won’t know you’ve sent her a message. There’s also the possibility that she’s away, or too ill/frail to use the internet.

To receive notifications of someone adding to this or any other thread you’re interested in, click the Watch This at the top of the page. Sometimes you’ll receive notification, other times you won’t. The GR system is showing its age.

Thank you everyone. I think I have found my mother's brother and his wife and they seem to still be alive: John Peace and Mavis Peace, living in Walsall. Trouble is they are ex-directory and the phone company will not disclose their number or address to me. Any idea how to get round this one? I'd really appreciate your suggestions. I'm getting to close now.
Thanks again, Jeanie Eldon
