It appears to be yet another progression in the way events were recorded over the years. Below all relate to Portsmouth RD, over the years, with different info recorded. Age at death gives way to DOB. Quarter to month. Volume and page no have Reg no added and then the format to which you refer. |

Can anyone enlighten me as to what the letter (suffix) 'A' means in death records please? Does it have any particular meaning, or is it just page related; say, as an additional page or entry? |
