When was her son born? Perhaps we can get her maiden name from his birth registration?

Assume son is no longer living. Do you know when he died, so we can work backwards?

ErikaH Report 7 Sep 2012 16:28

If you buy her marriage cert, you can find out when she was born.

Look on freebmd for a possible birth............

What was her maiden name?

I don't have any info from the person who PM'd me. Sorry if I have done things wrong on here.

Reggie

I am sure this is my relative as she was married to Arthur William Newman
and had a son Arthur H Newman who was in the Army.

What am I like, totally confused. I don't have her age at death at all. But I still think she was born about 1904.

So someone pm'd you offering help? why?

How would you know that what was found was correct?

The people who help on the boards do it because they want to....so it does'nt matter how many people are looking, it is more annoying to reply on the boards to find that someone else has already pm'd the info

ErikaH Report 7 Sep 2012 16:23

You say you 'think' she's your relative......

Don't you know who she married?

Her husband's details are on the Probate.....and the executor is possibly a son...............

Can you tell us where on the Probate record there is any mention of her age?

Phyll

Phyll Report 7 Sep 2012 16:19

I think she was born about 1904 if the age on her Probate is anythingt to go by. I don't know if she had a middle name. I also don't know where she was born.

Gins I thought I would try and stop too many people looking when I had an offer of search by PM, that's all. No offence meant.

Gins & Brummiejan, thanks but birth date is too early.

Phyll Report 7 Sep 2012 16:10

Thanks choccy, that's what I found but I can't find her in the actual death register so that I can send for a certificate. Would I be able to get a certificate without the index numbers do you knwo?

Many thanks

Phyll

Brummiejan & Reggie

I have had a PM from someone who is looking for me. If they have no luck I will post info on here but don't want to waste too many people's time searching for me. Thanks for your interest, you may yet be hearing from me.

Kind regards and thanks

What site are you looking at Phyll? There should be a facility to look for surname variations - it's possible the name has been mis-transcribed.
If no luck, put details on here and we can have a look.

I have found what I hope is the correct Probate for a relative of mine. It states on the write up that she died 1959 at St. Woods Hospital, Newport, isle of Wight. home address in London, Registry Winchester. I can't for the life of me find a death registered for her. Any ideas please.

I seem to be asking a lot of questions lately - hope no-one minds

Many thanks
