	If the census already given is the correct family then the previous two generations are both called James and not John. Kath. x

	This is probably your grandad's parent's marriage:- Name: ASHMAN, James H Registration district: St. Olave Southwark County: London Year of registration: 1925 Quarter of registration: Oct-Nov-Dec Spouse's last name: Stratford Volume no: 1D Page no: 255 Name: STRATFORD, Sarah L Registration district: St. Olave Southwark County: London Year of registration: 1925 Quarter of registration: Oct-Nov-Dec Spouse's last name: Ashman Volume no: 1D Page no: 255 If you buy the certificate it should hopefully name both their father's names. You can then look for the families in the 1911 census. Kath. x

His name was harold frederick james ashman, his father i believe was james harold and the next two generations are john ashmans.His fathers mothers side have the surname swann. My grandads mother was sarah stratford. Any information if anyone has any would be greatly appreciated.
