Hi again - the port was Plymouth that he was paid off from annielaurie.

I know a song about your name lol but I expect you're told that all the time.

Thanks for your interest in my thread.

Do you mean you know "Port she belonged to" for the Eliza? If so, what was it?

Hi Annielaurie

I have the 'Clio's ' half-yearly Crew & Account of Home Trade Ship. - Port of Fowey (1863) - from which I have the Crew - Henry Darling's "previous ship which last served and Port she belonged to and Nature of Employment" Required by Law.
Sadly this does not state the number of any of the crew's previous ships served.
regards to you

You'll need to know the ships official number to find out where any records might be.

However, it looks as though there were lots of ships of the same name, so hope you know which is the right one!

Hello G.Baby Long time since we corresponded.

Possibly a merchant vessel as the other vessel were. He was discharged from the 'Eliza' in December 1862 - then joined 'Clio' 6 January 1863 - at Fowey (Cornwall)
Working backwards from his previous ships to trace him.

Good to hear from an old Genes friend

regards to you

Is it a navel vessel or merchant ship

Not that I would know where to look for info

I am searching for the ship 'Eliza' that arrived in Plymouth 29 December 1862.
Emailed the Plymouth for advice but had no success for that particular year.
Any help/advice/ideas anyone please?
