I have a similar situation where a surname has been used as a forename but I had to go back to a marriage in 1800! The name has been used for six generations now.

Is there anyone out there who knows the ancestors of Frederick Surridge JONES, born 1883 in West Derby? I am trying to find out whether Surridge is a family name or not, as it was passed down to his daughter and grand daughter. Also, I am interested to know if Joseph Surridge TANNER, born 1845 in Huntingdonshire has any connection with this family.
