I have an Ancestry sub but not sure where to look (including other poss sites?) for any info on the Royal Barracks, Arran Quay in Ireland. Im interested in Robert Bates who was serving there in 1911. Also, are Dublin baptisms online please?

Sorry ignore this, MAJOR mistake on my part!!! Now considering Robert Bates who had a daug Sarah baptised in 1813 Dublin may be my man. (Having a major bimbo moment).

Try Google. There are lots of entries for Arran Quay and a lot more for Arran Quay Barracks.

Try this site for Census of Ireland 1901/1911

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Dublin/Arran_Quay/Royal_Barracks/101308/

It does include Royal Barracks, Arran Quay

Thanks Andrew, I found that and Im trying to establish if they had a daughter named Alicia in 1812/13. All I know is her father was Robert Bates and she was born in Dublin. Many thanks Roy.

Alicia in 1912/13 rather than 1812/13?

The baptism transcription project appears to be focusing on the period before the 1911 census - the list of Church of England parishes and the coverage is here:

http://www.irishgenealogy.ie/about/Dublin%20%28COI%29.pdf

- but none of them cover baptisms after 1911.

Hi Romany, no problem, I regularly make that mistake. My favourite one is getting no results at all on Ancestry for a surname like Smith only to realise that I typed 824 instead of 1824....
