REGGIE MOST OF THE BOOKS I FIND ARNT ON THE SHELVES USUALY BOXES ON THE FLOOR OR UNDER TABLES,
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO TELL WHAT NAME YOUR AFTER MAYBE IT WILL TURN UPON EBAY
THERE ARE LOTS OF SELLERS OF SUCH,

AND I TOO KNOW WHAT ITS LIKE I HAVE HARDLY ANY THING OF MY MUMS SIDE AFTER HER BROTHER HAD A BOMFIRE

I'm not demeaning your efforts - I think it's a splendid idea, but reality can't be ignored.

For instance, if you ever came across the leather-bound volumes which were presented to my late father as school prizes, it would be because my stepmother sold them almost before he was cold in his grave..........

So I do know what I'm talking about.............

MIGHT HAVE BEEN DIPOSED OF BY SOME WELL MEANING PERSON (MAYBE LIKE YOU)

The type of book would indicate that he was C of E

Someone must have have disposed of the book for it to have found its way to you.......that is a fact.

IT DOSNT COST THEM ANYTHING UNLESS

Which Hymn Book is it?

Knowing that would at least identify the type of Church he attended

What you really need is someone willing to look up the ER for that year........

Of course, the fact that you have the book means that he has probably died, and his 'family' dumped the book..............
