Hi
Is there anyone from GR who lives in Northern Ireland that could answer a question for me.
Does anyone know if there are plans to digitise Northen Irish BMD's
My mum's brother married a Northern Irish girl at the end of World War 2 and everyone lost touch with him in the late 50's early 60's,so I have no idea when he died,do not think he will be still alive as he was born in 1917 but you never know he could be.
I know you can go to The Record Office in Belfast and search through the records manually but it would be so much easier if it was digitised and as his name was Pickavance there cannot be too many of them..
would appreciate any ideas

Why not send PRONI an email and ask them about any digitisation plans they may have?

Researching:
Don't put off until tomorrow doing what you can do today. If you like doing it today you can do it again tomorrow. Be kind to your children for it is they who will decide which care home you end up in.

There no plan to digitise the N. Ireland BMD records, GRONI is the only place your going to get your information, they can do a 5year search for a fee but you have to give a rough year as the only search the year you give and 2 years either side of that year

2011/2012 N.Ireland phone book, there's only 1 Pickavance, same one as above, may not be your man, but could be a son, if you think he could be related, I can pm you his phone number.
